"TURKEY-EU: URSO ON MISSION WITH 100 ENTERPRISES
(AGI) - Rome, Italy, Dec.6 - In view of the decision to be taken by the European Council on the 17th December (on the beginning of negotiations for the joining in the EU of Turkey), the Italian government, through Productive Activities deputy Minister Adolfo Urso, organised a mission of 100 Italian enteprises to Istanbul. The mission will also feature representatives of Confindustria, ICE, SACE, and Simest, and will attend two important events: the bilateral investments seminar, on the 13th, and the visit, on the following day, to the Gaziantep region, where the first Italian industrial district (textile, mechanics and logistic) may stand. 'Turkey, where 150 SME are already operating - said Urso - is a real and proper gold mine for Made in Italy products. It's our 'little China', where our exportation increased mostly, +27.5 pct in the first 8 months 2004, paving the way towards middle eastern markets'. The mission will end in Ankara with institutional meetings, including the Turkish Industry, Finance and Defence ministers. (AGI) .
