"Turkey Should Make Best Use Of E.U. Donations, Kallas
ANKARA - Turkey should make best use of European Commission's donations worth 500 million euros, European Commission Vice President Siim Kallas said on Tuesday.
Kallas, commissioner responsible for Administrative Affairs, Audit and Anti-Fraud, is visiting Turkish capital of Ankara upon Europe Day.
Turkey cannot benefit from most of the money, allocated for itself, due to lack of good projects, he noted.
Kallas said that the European Commission wants to enhance its cooperation with the Turkish executives, and expressed belief that all problems will be overcome.
He is visiting Ankara to encourage Turkish government to maintain its reforms and fulfil its requirements on the road to the EU, he stated.
Kallas expressed Commission's concerns that Turkey has slowed down its reforms, but he intends to encourage Turkey to go on with reform process."
