Commenting on the accession of Turkey to the EU, Renate Sommer, Vice-Chairwoman of the Joint Parliamentary Delegation EU-Turkey, said: 'We must note that since the official admission of accession negotiations on 3 October 2005, there has been no further movement ahead for reforms in Turkey. This was confirmed by the representative of the European Commission in Turkey, Hansjoerg Kretschmer, as well as by ambassadors and further representatives of EU Member States in Ankara'."
