"Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport to target 1 million passengers

hakan writes 'Istanbul's second airport Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SAW) is targeting to reach 1 million passenger by the end of this year. According to SAW's Press and Public Relations Manager Ms. Lerzan Ozder, SAW is being currently used by 3 airliners for 10 domestic destinations and 2 airliners for 7 international destinations. Since more airliners based in SAW 610 thousand passenger already used SAW in the first nine months of 2005. SAW now targets 1 million passenger for the current year. SAW is located on Anatolian side of Istanbul where approximately 9.5 million people live including near residential and industrial areas such as Kocaeli, Yalova, Gebze as well as Formula One Racecircuit."
