Turkey is still negotiating for membership in the European Union, but a private museum in Istanbul has already taken a big step to embrace Western Europe with an exhibit of works by Pablo Picasso, including some that are rarely seen.

'Picasso in Turkey' is the country's first solo exhibition of a Western artist, according to Nazan Olcer, director of the Sakip Sabanci Museum, where the show was to open on Nov. 24. Among the more than 130 pieces are some that Picasso never displayed or sold, Ms. Olcer said."
