The Women from the East/Ishtars at the Gate arts festival organized by the Greater Istanbul Municipality kicked off on Sunday at the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall. The festival -- whose goal is to introduce female artists hailing from the eastern provinces and Middle Eastern countries to urban Turkish art lovers -- includes concerts, panel discussions, exhibitions and other cultural activities on its schedule. "
