Chief negotiator is expected to be announced in the coming days, and talks with EU on Cyprus protocol will start next month

European Union aspirant Turkey plans to speed up its efforts in preparation for upcoming accession talks with the 25-nation bloc, contrary to accusations claiming the process has not progressed since the Dec. 17 meeting.
One issue of central importance for the negotiation preparations is the creation of a team to coordinate the talks. Foreign Minister Abdullah G�l said late Thursday that the team would be formed soon, before a delegation of EU officials visit Ankara early in May."
