President Rauf R. Denktas has once again repeated that the Greek Cypriot Administration is using the European Union as an instrument to get the control of the whole island and to unite it with Greece; an objective, which he said, Greek Cypriots failed to achieve in the past by force of arms.
Speaking at a panel discussion in Adana, in southern Turkey, the President said that the independence of the Turkish Cypriot people was made �a bargaining issue� by Greek Cypriots during the negotiations on the Annan Plan and their membership talks with the European Union. "
