Turkish police fight Kurdish rebels
In Turkey one man has died in clashes with the police after authorities rejected Kurdish demands to celebrate their New Year on Monday.
Despite officials declaring Wednesday 21 March as the day for the celebrations, thousands assembled in the southern city of Diyarbakir.
