"Turkish Lira Rises to One-Month High on Rates Speculation, Europe Pledges

Turkey’s lira rose to the highest in a month as investors speculated that the central bank will keep interest rates on hold at a meeting in two days time.
The lira gained 0.5 percent to 1.5343 per dollar at 3:02 p.m. in Istanbul, the strongest since Dec. 17. The main ISE National 100 index of shares climbed 500.68, or 0.8 percent, to 67,332.04, reversing two days of losses. Two year benchmark bonds rose, with yields falling 15 basis points to 7.29 percent."
