Speaking at a conference in Istanbul Thursday, the outgoing governor of the Turkish Central Bank says financial stability is as important as price stability. ' As a measure against food inflation, Durmuş Yılmaz suggests a closer look into the logistics of perishable food items. 'Nearly a quarter of such perishable food items are being lost during the voyage to consumption centers,' he said. 'This increases the costs in the struggle against inflation.'"
