The honorary top prosecutor of Turkey’s Supreme Court of Appeals testified in Istanbul on Friday in the Ergenekon case.

After he gave his testimony, Sabih Kanadoğlu answered questions from the reporters and said he gave his testimony, "just as any citizen would." "Everyone, including the president and the prime minister, is accountable to the judiciary as an ordinary citizen in a country that has an independent judiciary. And so just like an ordinary citizen I fulfilled my duty," Kanadoğlu said. He also pointed out that the prerequisite for the rule of law is an independent judiciary. The hearing at the Beşiktaş court in Istanbul lasted almost two hours."
