It was just another day in the Bozkır district of Konya on Aug. 29. About 25 Kurdish workers who had arrived from cities in the Southeast were working on the construction of a student dormitory on the Seydişehir Highway. They arrived in Konya every year to find employment at construction sites in the fight of survival. That day, they had a quarrel with five workers from the local marble factory. Although the dispute quickly grew into a fight, they were unaware that an ordinary fight would explode in to a rage enveloping the entire town later that evening. As word of the fight reached the rest of the town, a group of 500 people identifying themselves as �nationalists� attacked the coffeehouse where the Kurdish workers were relaxing, chanting �Allahu Ekber� and screaming, �We don't want Easterners in Bozkır� and �Apo's dogs, leave Bozkır� and tried to lynch the workers of Kurdish origin. "
