The Turkish economy has broken new records in continious growth over the past 4 years. In the second quarter of 2006, the economy grew by 8.5%, while the Turkish Insitute for Statistics (TUIK) has announced that the first 6 months of this year saw a growth speed of 7.5%. Growth was recorded in 2005 as being at 7.6%, while the first quarter of 2006 saw 6.3% growth. "
