ISTANBUL - Cahit Durak gestures towards a hilltop behind his house in Istanbul, where dozens of men in masks and white overalls are digging barrels of poisonous waste out of the ground.
'People would graze their animals up there or grow things,' said the 26-year-old, who works in a cement factory and lives in the suburb of Tuzla."
