Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Namik Tan stated yesterday that Turkey wouldn't hesitate to take whatever measures are necessary to ensure the country's security.
Tan made the remarks at a weekly press conference in response to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani's recent claims that U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had assured him no Turkish cross-border operation to hunt down terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants holed up in northern Iraq would be allowed."
