Before the Iraq War, US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld described the anti-war Europe as 'old,' incurring the wrath of the continent. The age of the continent is not a new definition. It is something the Europeans use for themselves as opposed to the new continent, America. If oldness means the disinclination towards war, it is not necessarily a sin; however, more serious is the old continent losing its vigor and having no clear idea of how to compensate this loss."
