"Rare agreement on Cyprus problem report
By Jean Christou
BOTH GREEK and Turkish Cypriots yesterday found fault with the report on the Cyprus stalemate published by the International Crisis Group (ICG) but as usual it was for different reasons.
In what promised to be a hot debate on the controversial report that blames the Greek Cypriot side for the current deadlock, a panel discussion on the issue at the Ledra Palace, merely skimmed the surface.
Although the 40-page report was published a week ago, it was only officially presented yesterday by ICG representative Nicholas Whyte with panellists Erg?n Olgun, former member of Turkish Cypriot negotiating team, Andreas Theophanous, Professor of Political Economy at Intercollege, Erol Kaymak, Assistant a Turkish Cypriot Professor of Political Science, and Andros Karayannis, a civil society activist."
