The New Anatolian-Court allows use of non-Turkish letters

"Court allows use of non-Turkish letters

The New Anatolian / Ankara

A Turkish court yesterday refused a prosecutor's request to seize invitation cards produced by the Democratic Society Party's (DTP) Kars office for the Nevruz festival in which the name of the festival is written in Kurdish as 'Newroz.'

The decision by the Kars Criminal Court of Peace, which came a week before the Tuesday, March 21 Nevruz festival, could set a precedent for the use of the letters 'Q' and 'W,' which are used in Kurdish but not in Turkish. These two letters cannot be used in advertising or any official document under current laws."
