"Use M'sia To Penetrate Asean Market, Turkish Businesses Told

ISTANBUL, March 20 (Bernama) - The Turkish business community should consider Malaysia as an important business partner in the context of Asean, says International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz.
'Asean is a 10-member grouping of Southeast Asian countries that have already established the Asean Free Trade Area. With a population of half a billion and a combined GDP (gross domestic product) of about US$800 billion, Asean is a lucrative market for Turkish exports,' she said.
'Malaysia is strategically positioned in Asean as a springboard for Turkish companies intending to penetrate the Asean market,' the minister told over 400 Turkish businessmen and investors at a seminar on 'Business Opportunities in Malaysia', here Monday."
