ANKARA, Turkey — Just outside Gaziantep, a city of about 1 million people in southern Turkey, industrial parks sprout from the main road that leads west to Adana and the Mediterranean. Some 150,000 people work there in factories making everything from carpets to chocolates. Much of what these plants produce is bound for export markets: a huge container terminal lies nearby.
Exactly five years after an economic collapse that brought the country to the brink of defaulting on its huge debts, Turkey is finding its entrepreneurial feet again, especially in regional centers such as this city."
