The reactions triggered by the cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed published in a Danish newspaper have turned into an international crisis. Danish Prime Minister Rasmussen has refused to meet with ambassadors of Muslim countries who wanted to discuss the issue with him, saying, in a condescending manner that it was an issue within the realm of freedom of expression. He had assumed a similarly “pedagogical” stance towards Turkey over the Roj TV incident, which occurred during Prime Minister Erdoğan’s recent visit to Copenhagen. "
