The Cypriot government may be about to add the US to the list of countries it likes to snub, judging by comments of the government Spokesman George Lillikas on Thursday.
Reports have been circulating of a planned visit by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza to Cyprus as part of an international effort to solve the Cyprus problem.
Like the UK, Bryza is expected to follow previous policy and visit the Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat in his offices in northern Cyprus. Since these are the offices he occupies as the president of the unrecognised Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos may decide to snub him as he snubbed UK Foreign Secretary Jack Straw during his recent visit to Cyprus."
