"Turkish teenager charged over priest's murder
ANKARA - A Turkish court on Thursday charged a teenaged boy with killing an Italian Catholic priest in the north of the country, the Anatolia news agency reported.
The 16-year-old boy, idenitifed only by his initials as O.A, was charged with 'first-degree murder' and sent to the local jail, the report said.
It added that the boy used his legal rights to remain silent during the proceedings. No trial date was announced.
The boy was detained in a pre-dawn raid Tuesday in connection with the deadly shooting of Father Andrea Santoro, 61, in the Santa Maria Catholic Church in the city of Trabzon at the weekend."
