"Turkish Railways To Raise Standards
ANKARA-ISTANBUL TRIP TO TAKE ONLY 3 HOURS
ADANA - General Director of the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) Suleyman Karaman has indicated today that the ''black train'' often associated with foreign lands, separation and home sickness, will soon be replaced by colorful trains that the Turkish people would love.
In an exclusive interview with A.A in southern city of Adana where he is attending a regional meeting of the TCDD, Karaman noted that the TCDD has broken its shell and will end being outdated by putting new trains into service.
Karaman stressed that South Korean Rotem Corporation has submitted the lowest bid in a tender organized by TCDD and that this company will construct a factory in Turkey that will manufacture speed trains."
