I had noted the debate over history in France and philosopher Paul Ricoeur’s opinions on the matter before the bayram holidays. Reputed French historians disagreed with the French parliament for constantly passing laws on some historical matters. They said this legislation limited the freedom of historians by telling them what they should research, what conclusions they should reach and what methods they should use under threat of judicial punishment. "
