The European Parliament is ready to encourage the European Union Council to release a financial aid package designed to improve the economy of the northern part of Cyprus, in exchange for Turkey's implementation of a key protocol extending Turkey's customs union with the EU, including newcomers such as Greek Cyprus, according to a Greek Cypriot media report."
