"Information Minister Receives Turkish Expert at Washington Institute

Damascus, Jan. 16 (SANA)-
Information Minister Mehdi Dakhlallah has stressed the importance of the Syrian-Turkish relations in realizing stability in the region.
During his meeting with the Turkey expert at Washington Institute for Near East Policy Soner Cagaptay, Dakhlallah said ' We in Syria feel that Turkey's joining the EU will enhance bilateral relations between the two countries since Turkey is considered Syria's gate to Europe while Syria poses as Turkey's gate to the Arab world, noting that this would enhance the presence of the peace-loving forces in Europe'."
