CU-Boulder researchers probe dangerous fault lines near Istanbul
Scientists believe region could soon see major quake

Recent reports state the so-called big one, the next cataclysmic earthquake, could strike close to Istanbul, and instrumentation installed deep beneath the earth's surface by University of Colorado scientists close to a critical fault line may better reveal the geologic processes contributing to such disasters.
