Sabancı University in Istanbul, Turkey, has made the leap into nanotechnology by hiring a prominent figure from Irvine Sensors Corporation, Volkan Özgüz, as the director of the University's Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM). Özgüz has returned to Turkey with 20 years experience in the field, and says that SUNUM will first prioritize agriculture, water and environmental cleanliness."
