Reopening the Turkish–Armenian border, closed since 1993, would do more economically for Armenia than Turkey, Turkish secretary-general of the Intercultural Dialogue Platform Cemal Usak said in Yerevan on February 7.

According to the news agency Regnum, Usak said Turkish goods are more costly for Armenian consumers because they must be routed through Georgia. He stated that while Armenians stand to gain much from a direct connection with Turkey, a major regional manufacturer, Turkey will gain only a boost to its international image by opening the border."
