Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said the current Turkish Parliament is fully qualified to elect the new head of state in 2007 when President Ahmet Necdet Sezer's term in office ends.
This means the prime minister is set to have his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) majority to elect the president irrespective of current tensions."
