The application of 78 Turkish Cypriots to use their right to “elect and be elected” have been refused in Cyprus.

The Greek Minister of Interior sent a related statement including their refusal to the 78 applications made on February 28, to the Solution and European Union Party leader and Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce President, Ali Erel.

The notice reads Turkish Cypriots will not be granted the right to vote in the elections.

Erel in respsonse said they will launch a legal process in the High Court of the Cyprus Republic, and if they fail there, they will resort to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR)."
