"Bakoyannis: Turkish attitude contradicts EU ambitions
Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis stated yesterday that Turkey is currently acting in a manner contradictory to its goal of joining the European Union.
Speaking to Greek newspaper Ta Nea, Bakoyannis stated that Athens wants to see a Europeanized Turkey that is politically and socially mature and economically developed. She underlined that the EU won't make 'discounts' in its requirements or principles that must be fulfilled by EU candidates.
Asked whether Greece has a strategy to deal with Turkey's so-called 'contradictory attitude to EU principles,' she said that it's still too early to outline a strategy."
