Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's government poses a threat to Turkey's secular order, but the universities will fight any attempt to Islamicize learning, a senior education official said on Friday.
Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) emerged from two Islamist parties banned by Turkey's secular courts, but it denies any Islamic agenda and describes itself as a center-right party supporting family values."
