"New German Chancellor promises support for Kurdish secessionists
Berlin, 3 November - The designated German Chancellor Angela Merkel is scheduled to meet with Mazoud Barzani, chairman of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to offer Germany's support for the creation of an indipendent Iraqi Kurdistan with Irbil as it's capital. The plans are said to enjoy the support of the US which is planning to deploy it's armed forces, once evacuated from most of the Arab regions of Iraq, to the largest US army base it is currently constructing in Irbil. According to German sources, the plans are also being discussed with high-ranking Turkish military, some of whom are considering to drop their prejudices against the creation of an indipendent Kurdistan on Iraqi territory in exchange for the possibility do deport Kurdish nationalists from Turkey. "
