The European Union (EU) is increasing the number of points to be negotiated with Ankara from 31 to 39 or 40.
Brussels was able to implement the EU declaration with the ten countries that became members on May 1st with 31 negotiation articles. Increasing the number of articles means that the negotiations will be longer, more detailed, and more specific. The addition of each negotiation article requires confirmation by each EU member country. "
