Professor Achcar: Turkey lost its ‘big brother’ role in region

Prominent Middle East expert Professor Gilbert Achcar from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London told Today's Zaman in an interview that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's misguided policy of engaging with Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood has led to Turkey losing its status as a role model in the region, simply becoming another common player.
