Turkey hopeful of progress on EU entry talks later this year

Brussels (dpa) - Turkey was hopeful of progress in the second half of 2013 on the stalled negotiations over its European Union membership bid, its minister for EU affairs said Wednesday.
It hopes to open a new negotiating chapter, Egemen Bagis said, after France and Germany indicated that they may cede ground on the issue.
