U.S. pledges more emergency aid for Syrian refugees as crisis worsens in Turkey
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced today from Istanbul that the United States will be providing an additional $5.5 million in humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees who continue to stream over the Turkish border this week as battles between Assad’s government forces and the Free Syria Army heat up in population centers like Aleppo, Homs and the capital city of Damascus.
