Turkey’s EEZ threat contravenes law of the sea

Even though Turkey is not a party to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, the international consensus is that the provisions of the convention have acquired the legal force of customary law and Turkey has no right to appropriate arbitrarily what the Republic of Cyprus is entitled to under the convention.
