Cyprus in crisis: Tourist haven set to shut down cities

Several austerity-hit municipalities in Cyprus might be forced to suspend services or shut down altogether, the Cyprus Mail reported on Sunday, if they don’t receive proper funding from the central state. The government cut municipality funding by over $24 million from a total of $110 million, which is shared amongst 30 cities.
