Istanbul-New York flights cancelled due to hurricane Irene
THY cancelled its joint flights with American Airlines to New York, while Delta Airlines also cancelled its flights to New York due to Irene.
With winds of 170 kilometers per hour, Irene is expected to hit coasts of North Carolina. The hurricane is expected to remain near the threshold of Category One and Category Two strength.
