Turkey’s current-account deficit expanded to its widest in more than two decades in November as domestic demand boomed and exports languished.
The deficit was $5.9 billion, the widest gap since 1984, when the central bank’s data series began, compared with a $1.8 billion deficit in the same month of 2009, the bank in Ankara said on its website today. The shortfall was expected to be $5.8 billion, according to the median estimate of 10 economists surveyed by Bloomberg. "
