"Electronic shackles to be introduced in Turkey
The much-criticized pretrial periods of incarceration in the Turkish judicial system have motivated the Justice Ministry to consider electronic monitoring as a way of restricting the movement of persons accused of serious crimes. Alternative sentencing options including public service are also being planned."
