"US Senate delegation holds talks in Ankara
A delegation from the US Senate arrived in the Turkish capital yesterday for meetings with both political and military officials.
The US delegation, led by Republican Senator Mel Martinez, had talks with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as well as with military officials from the General Staff. Martinez, who was the former secretary of housing and urban development under President George W. Bush, is a member of the Armed Services Committee of the Senate. Senators Charles Gressley, John Thune and Larry Craig were among the delegation that arrived Ankara following their stop in Morocco."
