"Tesco's Turkish Unit to Open First Istanbul Store (Update1)

Jan. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Tesco Plc's Turkish unit will open its first Istanbul store in May to expand in the country's biggest city.
Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret & Gida Sanayi AS will open the 13,000 square-meter (140,000 square feet) store in Kurtkoy on Istanbul's Asian side, Gurcan Onol, an executive at the company, told a press conference in Istanbul today. Tesco Kipa will open a second Istanbul store in the Silivri district later this year, spending a total of 54 million liras ($46 million) on the two outlets, he said."
