Commenting on the 2001 economic crisis in Turkey, Chairman of Turkish-U.S. Business Council Ferit Şahenk said: “Turkey offers a 72 million large consumer market. On the one side there is aging Europe and on the other there is changing Middle East and there is no need to say much on the opportunities Turkey offers in such an international context.” "
