"Turkey, United States: Growing irritation in Ankara

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdallah Gül had talks in the United States amid growing anger at home over Washington’s failure to curb armed Kurdish rebels said to be hiding out in Northern Iraq, the Anatolia news agency reported.

Gül met with Vice-President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley in Washington.
He also had talks with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in New York before returning home on February 9."
