"Turkish social, employment policies to be screened by EU
The screening process that Turkish social, political and employment policies will soon undergo as a result of Turkey's accession talks with the European Union was detailed during talks beginning yesterday in Brussels.
Top officials from the Turkish Labor and Social Security Ministry and the State Planning Organization (DPT) will discuss with EU officials issues such as working hours and working conditions, workers' health issues, job protection, the problem of illegal workers, handicapped workers, employment policy, labor laws, the fight against gender discrimination, social dialogue, social protection programs and equal opportunity. They will also answer questions posed by European Commission members. "
